Day 1
Giverny
After your arrival in Giverny by your own means, visit at your own pace the Giverny Impressionists Museum and its contemporary gardens.
After lunch (not included), visit the Claude Monet Foundation in Giverny. You will visit Monet’s house and the gardens, probably the most famous impressionist painter. The flower and water featured garden is listed as “Remarkable Garden“.
After the museum, stroll around the scenic streets of Giverny, village of artists, art galleries and gift shops.
Dinner (not included). Overnight at the hotel or in a guest house.
Day 2
Les Andelys and Lyons-la-Fôret
After your breakfast, take a guided tour of the Chateau Gaillard, fortress of Richard Lionheart in Andelys, a listed monument, in a protected area. The view over the river Seine and the hillside is quite spectacular, and has inspired many artists, including, of course, the impressionists…
Lunch (not included) in Lyons la Forêt, listed among the most beautiful village in France. Discover the truly charming Normand countryside, with mills and timbered houses and mills.
In Vascoeuil, nestled in the Andelle valley, you will have the opportunity to visit the town’s castle, dove house and the gardens, that host a collection of over 50 sculptures.
